A Celebration of Life: EVELYN LAUDER

This past Monday I went to the most incredibly beautiful memorial service for Evelyn H. Lauder, the powerhouse who led the Estee Lauder brand for so many years, changed the face of social awareness, and redefined what it meant to be a women living with breast cancer. She was a working woman, a mother, a wife, a leader, and a humanitarian; she really did it all while being the most giving, philanthropic woman you could have the honor to meet.

Sitting at the memorial, listening to the heartfelt stories of this extraordinary woman really made me think about the importance of family, truly living each day to the fullest, and making sure you are able to do something in your life that makes a difference in someone else’s. One of Evelyn’s most notable and proudest accomplishments was founding the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and leading it in raising over $330 million dollars since its inception in 1993. I feel so lucky to be able to be apart of that remarkable organization by helping to raise awareness and generate funds through products I personally create. I first developed products to support BCRF in 2006 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Target and I sold products every October in concurrence with breast cancer awareness month, but I believe this fight is an everyday fight so this year we are happy to offer my Proudly Pink Brush Set with 15% of proceeds going to BCRF every day, every month, all year round!

Proudly Pink Brush Set $14.99, available year-round at Target

With a cause that hits so close to home, it is so important to me to be able to contribute in any way I can. I know many of you have been impacted by breast cancer in some way or another and I encourage you to continue to show your support in your daily lives and share with the world what you are doing to help make a difference!

BRUSH UP ON BEAUTY!!

While I stand behind every product I create, I am especially proud of the ongoing recognition I get for my brushes. I am always trying to come out with new takes on beauty essentials, whether that be a stylish handle, a must-have set assortment, or a completely unique brush design. But the most incredible aspect is the value you get when purchasing one of my brushes; the partnership I have with Target allows me to produce the highest-quliaty tools, rival to that of MAC, Tom Ford, or Chanel which can run you upwards of $110 per brush, at affordable prices that won’t break the bank!

Two of my latest brush sets were featured in the February issue of InStyle Magazine:

Smokey Eye Brush Set, $14.99

Part of my Spring 2012 Collection out in stores in March, this set of four brushes will help you create a stunning smokey eye effortlessly. Use it with your favorite palette; every brush is specifically tailored to each step in the process, making application fool-proof!

LUXE Tres Chic 6pc Brush Set, $34.99

Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott is a celebrity favorite of my line, raving “Best makeup brushes ever. I stock up on them whenever I’m at Target!” Get your hands on this travel set pictured from my LUXE Collection, available exclusively at Target.com!

Have you tried any of my brushes? Which is your favorite can’t-live-without tool?

GOLDEN GLOBE GORGEOUS!!

This past Sunday was the Golden Globes and while I was at our fabulous Target in-store event in California during the time of the show, I of course had to catch up on all of the fashion and beauty that I missed! And let me tell you, there were a few stand out stars that I feel really represented beauty today.

The overall theme of the night was a nude, delicate face. A majority of the celebrities showed up with simple makeup; soft shimmery eyes, light pink lips, and flawless natural-looking skin. This aesthetic is an all-time favorite of mine, my go-to look if you will, but of course some pulled it off better than others.

Michelle Williams, won Best Actress in a comedy/musical for "My Week with Marilyn"

Michelle’s fresh face and sweet headband gave her an angelic, modern look. The hint of blue tight along her lower lash line really opened up her eyes and gave the face that extra something; try using my Eye Definer in Blue Jean to achieve this look. Continue reading “GOLDEN GLOBE GORGEOUS!!” »

Back To Reality!!

Happy 2012!! I’m back in the office after a long, wonderful and much needed two weeks in the country. I had a fabulous holiday break with my husband and two children just enjoying some down time and getting back to a normal pace after such a hectic season. Luckily the east coast was blessed with some beautiful weather so I spent a lot of time outdoors, specifically walking my favorite 5 miles of gorgeous Connecticut scenery. For me, vacation is all about being able to relax, enjoy my family’s company, and get in my 2 hour daily workouts; healthy body, healthy mind! Of course I also got to celebrate the holidays and New Year with special loved ones.

Splurge Vs Steal: Brush Set Edition!!!

One of the things I’ve always been most proud of are my brush sets. Combining professional quality tools with highly designed handles and cases makes for truly special, one-of kind beauty experience. All of the brushes in my sets are made of the softest bristles and the cases are made to function, not only as brush holders but as chic clutches and purses. I recently launched my new LUXE Collection which takes my signature sets to the next level, the best of the best if you will. This isn’t to say my collection at Target stores isn’t breath-taking as well; my new Limited Edition Holiday 2011 collection is to die for and the quality is amazing! And while looking at the sets themselves you can really tell what a beautiful product you are getting, the real value of your purchase can’t be expressed more clearly than a comparison through a splurge vs steal!!
