Summer Beauty 2010

Every year when summer comes rolling in I am asked about Summer Beauty tips and trends.  Year after year the color palette seems to follow similar trends: the soft beachy neutrals and the excitement of color.  I personally love the combination of the 2 palettes.  I LOVE LOVE a bright lip with a hit of beautifully blushed cheeks, the eyes stay neutral and soft.

Summer Beauty Look- Four Your Eyes Only Eye Shadow Quad (darkest shade), Beautifying Blush in Flamingo, Luxury Lip Color in Azalea

Then mascara gives the impact to show off the eyes.  Always use an eyelash curler before applying mascara; this simple little tool makes a BIG difference.  I offer two different eyelash curlers: the Dramatically Defining Eyelash Curler and the Deluxe Travel Eyelash Curler. Both are fantastic!  The Dramatically Defining Eyelash Curler totally rivals the coveted Shu Uemura curler and at a fraction of the cost!  The perfect splurge vs steal!!

For the lip, I LOVE AZALEA, SHEER ROSEBUD, AND SHEER CALYSPO Luxury Lip Colors.  Another option is Velvety Shine Lip Crayon in HOT PINK. For something more sheer and glossy check out Ultra Shine Sheer Lip gloss in BEAUTY. If you want color, but are walking cautiously try NECTAR Luxury Lip color, a beautiful peachy color that looks so fresh on the lips.

For the cheeks, either FLAMINGO Beautifying Blush or ROSEY Crème Blush brightens the face right up!

For the powder blush use the Kashuk Tools Blusher Blush. Again check out the price of my brush in comparison to either MAC or Bobbi Brown. I am so happy to bring real VALUE!! For the crème blush use the Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush.

For the eyes, you have many options that are SO easy to use!! The SHOWSTOPPERS Quad adds a subtle SPARKLE. THE NEUTRAL EYE PALETTE gives you lots of options. If you want to remain on the softer neutral side try the FOUR YOUR EYES ONLY Eye Quad or for soft color try the COTTON CANDY Eye Quad. I love the simplicity of one sweep of color over the entire eyelid reaching to just beyond the crease. The Kashuk Tools Large Eye shadow Brush or the Small Multi Purpose Eye Shadow Brush will deliver a gorgeous application!

For the Skin, again you have a couple of options.  You can forgo foundation and use my Sunless Tan Face Tanning Towelettes. The trick is to use them at night and VIOLA…you wake up tan and fabulously pretty!

Sunless Tan Face Tanning Towelettes $9.99

The other options are my RADIANT TINTED MOISTURIZERS with SPF 15 or my new PERFECTING LUMINIOUS FOUNDATION. Both will give you a beautiful glowy dewy finish. Remember to only use foundations where needed. The most important trick with foundations is to be sure you get the right color. If you are between shades go with the slightly warmer shade. Once you apply you should not see the color, it should blend right in…also for summer you usually need to change your shade to go warmer to adapt to the warmer skin tone from exposure to the sun.

Radiant Tinted Moisturizer $12.99 & Perfecting Luminous Foundation $10.49

Last but not least!! Your final accessory, NAIL COLOUR!  This can really be a fun playground! Experiment and try different shades. Who would have thought years ago that BLACK would become a basic shade! My new collection offers 10 shades at the ridiculous price of 3.99!

Nail Colour $3.99

So I recently saw a make up tutorial using the Cotton Candy Eyeshadow quad, and I was so excited because it has all the shades I love to use but they’re matte. However, is out of stock. Am I out of luck or will this product be reintroduced?

    • Sonia Kashuk says:

      Hi Emily,

Unfortunately this product is discontinued and will likely not be brought back. However we are constantly introducing new colors and I am sure you will find ones you love. You can find those shades in the Cotton Candy Quad throughout numerous items in my current line.

I was wondering to know how to order a bottle of Sonia Kashuk® Eye Makeup Remover – 4 oz when we are from Europe? I do leave in Belgium and have looked on the website but couldn’t find any store to order from it?
    Thank you

    • Sonia Kashuk says:

      Hi Lila,

My products are currently only sold in the U.S. exclusively through Target. Maybe the next time you visit the states or have a family member over here they can pick you up so product to try!

I was wondering if I am still able to buy your tapered blending brush, my target never has them in stock. Is the small multipurpose powder brush equivalent to it?

  5. shirley thomas says:

what brush do I use to apply the color from the brow kit. It used to come with a brush but no longer does. Please help. I’m desperate

    • Sonia Kashuk says:

      Hi Shirley,

You can use the Brow Brush $5.99 and the Spoolie Brush $1.99 from the core line of brushes with the white handles. It is hard to deliver quality in the mini applicators and the brushes are so affordable it was an easy decision to get rid of the applicators.

I picked up some of your products while vacationing in the States. Now I would like to purchase more but does not ship to Canada. Can you tell me where in Montreal, Quebec I can buy your products or if there is a website online that will ship to Canada.

    Thank you,

    Hi Sonia,

I love your make up! I just recently started looking for nice make up brushes. I looked at Sephora and Mac but they are pricey. I then remembered you sell brushes and have the white crease brush from you and love it. I was wondering what a good starter of brushes would be?

I love the black handle ones you have, very nice looking. Thank you so much for having beauty items I can afford and don’t feel like I am missing out!

  8. Marci says:

I have a question for you – most of the time eye shadow comes in quads so that one color is the base, one in the crease, one to highlight, and then one accent. But you say you love the “one sweep of color over the entire eyelid reaching to just beyond the crease.” Are your eyeshadow quads intended to be used one at a time, or used together?

    • Sonia Kashuk says:

      Hi Marci,

The eye shadow quads are intended to be used in a variety of ways.. really any way you want! You can of course use them like you mentioned but also you can have the freedom to use one or two shades if you like. I even mix palettes using a shade from one quad and pair it with a shade from another. Be Creative!

  9. Aimi, I am totally with you. I can’t order anything by Sonia Kashuk online either- I live in Poland. Dear Sonia, how could I order your lovely makeup in Europe? I want almost ALL your eyeshadows! And the eyelash curler…

  10. Heather says:

Sometimes the heat of the day can be a bit much, I love to add just a touch of foundation to my moisturizer… Sonia makes that a No-Brainer by giving us her tinted moisturizer! It’s the new Little Black Dress for summer. I don’t always want to feel Made-up, so I am really digging the neutral eye quads! On the days that I REALLY don’t want a thing on my face, I can give my eyes a POP with the eyelash curler and a bit of mascara on my outer lashes and throw on one of her fun nail colors . The shimmer quads are perfect for a hot night out… a little glimmer could be that perfect accessory when it heats up… Rock On Ladies!

As soon as I saw your nail polish line on the Target website I bought all of them!!! When I received them in the mail I was so happy because they were even more beautiful in person. I have used them and LOVE LOVE LOVE them =) Hope you continue creating new shades for every season. Thanks for the tips I will definitely try them out <3

  12. Renee says:

I live in Sacramento, CA and my local target stores do not carry the Dual Coverage Powder Foundation. Where can I purchase that product. I love it and have used it for years.

  13. Samantha T says:

I love the nail polish colors- SO fun for summer! Keep up your great work!!
P.S. I just bought the ‘Out of the Woods’ six piece brush set with matching case today. Adorable! I’m officially obsessed with these brushes :)
